  • Woody Harrelson being freaked out by the things McConaughey says and does in True Detective is my new favorite thing in the whole world.

    LCR’S Recast-athon

    By Sati. Tuesday, January 28, 2014 , , , , 30 Comments
Jack from the awesome Lights Camera Reaction came up with a very fun idea - what if you could recast some roles from 2013? So he asked us to choose 3 and write why would that actor do a better job. You can still join in and I must say most of the ideas people have so far are like 10x better than what we actually saw in those movies.

    (115) Bloody shirts, buttered toasts and the missing citizens of Fucksville + links

  • Those are from Hannibal season 2 trailer (here). Frustrated, out of breath Mads Mikkelsen in a bloody shirt is everything.
  • Scream Queen Katharine Isabelle has been cast as Margot Verger in season 2. This is so great. I wonder how they will portray her character.

    The Wolf of Wall Street

    By Sati. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 , , , , , , , , 48 Comments
Martin Scorsese's outrageous new film The Wolf Wall Street is the director's return to formula known from films such as Goodfellas and Casino. A story of crime, money and ultimate consequences. Or in this case - perhaps a lack of them?

Blogathon: Life, Love and the Movies

    By Sati. Monday, January 20, 2014 , 34 Comments

MyFilmviews and Karamel Kinema started a very cool blogathon, which consists of 16 movie-related questions.

    1. What was the first movie you saw in the cinema and what do you remember about that visit?

I remember seeing The Lion King and half of people crying when main lion's dad died. That's as specific as I can be.

    19th Annual Critics Choice Awards

    By Sati. Saturday, January 18, 2014 , 22 Comments
  • Fist of all, I'm a big fan of Archer but Aisha Tyler was so awful hosting that ceremony. Wow. Not only was she extremely nervous, awkward and intrusive, talked too fast and too loud and had terrible material, she had issues pronouncing the names of the people she wanted to tell her awful jokes about. Apart from her cool intro of McConaughey late into ceremony, she was just terrible. Jesus Christ, I've never seen Amy Adams more uncomfortable in my life. Everyone looked so confused and bored. It gets worse as then she actually kept responding to people on twitter and facebook in such a rude way even I was appalled. It was kinda like 'I'm a famous (well she isn't, really, because who the fuck knows who she is apart from Archer fans, but that's another matter) actress so I know I was funny because look at me I'm so awesome'. I kinda lost the desire to see Archer premiere after seeing her comments.

  • I was a giggling, wide-eyed happy kitty whenever Dujardin appeared. Sweet Jesus, what a fox.

The Best (and Worst) of 2013

    By Sati. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 , 68 Comments

    Best movie: Gravity
    (2. The Wolf of Wall Street 3. Blue is the Warmest Color 4. The Conjuring 5. Mud 6. Her 7. Captain Phillips 8. Blue Jasmine 9. Stoker 10. The Hunt)

Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity is the perfect movie. It's a beautiful, breathtaking spectacle and the most spectacular cinematic experience I've ever had. It's a technical marvel but it has a very strong heart at the center of it - wonderful, highly relatable story of a human being with flaws and imperfections, struggling to survive and achieving just that because of the beauty and the capability of human spirit. In the world filled with so much evil, it's important to make films like that - that show us that humans can achieve wonderful things too. If only by staying alive and appreciating the very miracle of it.

Dorne calls for vengeance in the epic first trailer for Game of Thrones 4 + screencaps breakdown

    By Sati. Monday, January 13, 2014 , , , 29 Comments
HBO has finally revealed the first full-length trailer for season 4 of Game of Thrones. Just like the trailers for the previous seasons this promo is terrific. We get so much good stuff here - glimpses of the battle, the trial by combat and even Arya back with the Needle and Sansa at the Eyrie.

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards

There were few awesome surprises during last night's Golden Globes, my favorite depicted on the above gifset. There was some laughter, lots of drunk people and few glimpses of Fassy. It was fun.

    (113) Gandalf fucked up aka the mystery of two gay dwarves + links

By Sati. Friday, January 10, 2014 48 Comments
  • Ian McKellen has accidentally outed fellow The Hobbit actors - he said two actors who play dwarves, Luke Evans, Stephen Fry and Lee Pace are gay. This interview seems old, but for some reason it resurfaced now. This is not cool of him. While everyone knows Fry is gay, Pace has been in a closet for years now and he should be able to choose his moment to come out.

    Blue Jasmine

    By Sati. Monday, January 6, 2014 , , , , , , , , 42 Comments
There is a fairly new pattern in the world. Every two years Woody Allen makes a good movie. Between that his movies are either really, really bad or truly acquired taste. After an unholy abomination that was From Rome with Love, truly one of Allen's worst, comes delightful, mature, insightful and surprisingly dark Blue Jasmine.

    (112) JLaw? No-No. British treasures? Yes, yes. + links

By Sati. Friday, January 3, 2014 46 Comments
  • Let the bitterness flow out next to this Cersei gif that fits the upcoming words so well.
  • I cannot stand Jennifer Lawrence anymore. She is a good actress, but she has reached new levels of overhyped this Oscar season. After seeing her performance in American Hustle, I'm almost hoping she wins Oscar two times in the row. Then the backlash will hit her in the ass.
  • Yes, it's not her fault she is overhyped. I'm just sick of this craze - comparing her in SLP and AH to Hanks in Philadelphia and Forest Gump is one of the most disgusting comparisons I've seen in my life. Hiddles and Benedict Cumberbatch fans are passionate too - but different kind of passionate. You don't see them calling for Oscars and comparing them to all time greats, though frankly they both kick her ass as Loki and Sherlock. Comparing one good performance and one uneven one to two legendary ones, one young chick from teenage franchise to Tom Hanks, is just...a huge no-no. Also - Hiddles and Ben are humble. She looks anything but humble to me.
